yearofpublication is undefined about lni HOT 5 CLOSED

Using the old definition \year results into a success compiled pdf. Maybe the lni class needs to be updated.

The class in Overleaf seems to be too old. The current version is 2021/03/02 v1.7 Official class.

Exactly. Because overleaf uses TeX Live 2019, the shipped lni version is 2019/10/14 v1.6. Or do I miss something?
As an overleaf user it is not easily possible to update the builtin document classes, fortunately the old definition is still available until the shipped version will be updated.

You could copy the most recent version of lni.cls into your working directory.
