Found solution for NestJS / ES6 thanks to @mauricedoepke
import { GoCardlessClient } from 'gocardless-nodejs/client';
and instead of calling gocardless(...), instance the client:
return new GoCardlessClient(
process.env.GC_ACCESS_TOKEN,
constants.Environments.Sandbox,
);
from gocardless-nodejs.
