This still isn't working for Chris. Look at the problem with his user/data specifically.

The issue with Chris is that he apparently never set a password.
Because Rails' has_secure_password requires a password (we're unable to override the validation added by the mixin) we've got some hacks that work around the lack of it being set for unconfirmed users.
The workaround for the lack of a password is, IMHO, a crutch. I'd rather swap out has_secure_password with devise at this point. I'll add a workaround for now.
