Steve: we've single-sourced https://github.com/GoogleChrome/chrome-app-samples here on GitHub, and while it definitely lets us move fast and get low-overhead contributions from the community, we do miss some of the infrastructure we get on Chromium, primarily running automated tests on each build and atomic (i.e., don't mail on each comment) code reviews. For simple apps/demos, stay here. For anything big or that might break, stay in Chromium. And if you figure out how to keep multiple copies in sync, let us know how you did it!

Sounds like the advice is "For simple apps/demos, stay here". That's easy to do!
