This is a bug, it should display correctly when you load the page.
Then, for some reason it sometimes disappears and never comes back.
I haven't found the reason yet so any clue is welcome.

I was actually able to reproduce the bug just now! The marker was not showing when first hovering over an empty elevation profile.
