Something odd is going on with your setup. I've just cloned this fresh. I did an 'npm install' followed by an 'npm start' and it worked perfectly.

What version of Node.js are you running?
What operating system are you on?

Please also give me full output from your setup. I'd like to see the results of the clone (or unzip), then the results of the npm install and finally the results of running npm start.

Hi Ashley, I'm using node 11.9.0 on OS X 10.14.5. I switched to a different account on the same system and this time the npm install ran the electron post install step, so there must be something awry in my environment.
