You only included one line from the backtrace, but that line points at the error being neither in haml nor haml-rails — is there some other reason you think that your problem is related to haml-rails?

yeah... I guess I didn't have enough sleep.
I was thinking "When adding this gem, a problem occures. Therefore, there must be an issue with this gem."
It was more of a dependency issue. I updated the formtastic gem and my problem is solved :
gem 'formtastic', github: 'justinfrench/formtastic', branch: 'rails4beta'
