Hi! There's no device discovery limit. Is it always the same sensors that become unresponsive? And how long does it take for them to start acting up?
After they become unresponsive do they still appear in the results if you run:
$ sudo bluetoothctl
scan on

Since I haven't got any more information about this issue in over a month I'll close it. I've released a new version which will automatically restart scanning when stopped by an unknown source. I don't know if that is your issue since you didn't provide any logs but please try it out.
If your problems persists please let me know and provide debug logs and I'll reopen this issue.
