@gracenotes could you enlighten us as to what this TODO item meant?
I suspect it is no longer relevant because the import now works rather differently. We do it "online" with an import client that PUT/POSTs things, rather than the server reading the old files directly.

Yes, this is about resident memory. The primary goal of the original importer was to ensure that import of any given feature was transactionally atomic. Delegating this to a smart client is definitely more sensible, and you only have to worry about space leaks over time.

Ok great. The old server import has been removed so this is no longer an issue.
