@twittwer Your lambda function is incorrectly written. I think it should be something like this;

defiant.getSnapshot(data, snapshot => console.log(snapshot));

I've created a demo file with your code example here, issue #113. Notice that the code block found on this page is live and you can edit and execute so you can try it to fit your needs. This is possible to another js-library I recently release; jupyter.js.

Sorry, that was a typo in the issue - the real code I used looks like this:

defiant.getSnapshot(data, (snapshot) => {
    snap = snapshot;
});
