Please describe your problem in details.

What do you mean by "not able to attach any file to it's application icon"?

Do you mean that the apps windows are not automatically restored on dragging a file, or that you're not able to pin the programs icons to the taskbar by the drag gesture?

It's expected and explained in the READ ME:

#limitations

This feature has never worked in this program, the program description never claimed that it works, so I'm not sure what you meant by "don't work anymore", as nothing changed in this matter.

Hello, and thank you for your answers.
However, I think that my poor English makes it difficult for me to explain my problem to you. So I will try with an example:
I have already pinned MS Office applications to the taskbar (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
When I drag an Excel workbook or a Word document on the icon of its dedicated application, a prohibition panel appears, exactly as your software is not active.

So my problem is not with pinning an application to the taskbar, but with adding to the jump list of that application a file I use routinely.

I hope to have explained myself better this time and thank you in advance for your answer.
Best regards.

Windows11DragAndDropToTaskbarFix is only predicting users actions. It doesn't inject any things to the system processes, so it doesn't change the "stop" / "prohibition" icon that appears by default. It never did.

So my problem is not with pinning an application to the taskbar, but with adding to the jump list of that application a file I use routinely.

The method of working is exactly the same as it would be with pinning apps to the taskbar. The program doesn't know what file you're dragging, and it doesn't have a possibility to pin items to the jump list of the pinned application. It only knows that you clicked the mouse button, it's predicting the position on the taskbar and simulates hotkeys in order to restore the destination window. So other features related to pinning apps / files just won't work.

It's also recommended to update Windows 11 to version 22H2, where drag-and-drop should be available natively, without need to use this program. Since the drag-and-drop returned to Windows 11, the Windows11DragAndDropToTaskbarFix won't be longer improved with new features.

You can also check this guide for a pinning documents workaround:
