We should force a version < 1.4.22 of iptable(-restore) as a workaround.
Check what version is available via
yum --showduplicates list iptables

Change to fedora 27 did not help, though iptable rules are now created by kube-proxy.
Im looking into the possibility that the service network by chance is the same as the pod network.

Turned out that vagrant creates a network with the same ip range as the service Network in kubernetes. This highjacks the traffic.

I migrated the project to fedora to get iptables to work. Theres work being done in the kubernetes community to fix this, i just dont have time to wait for that.
This issue, will spawn a new issue to cleanup and change all yum to dnf
