Hey Anthony, both are correct - the exception argument can be a hash or an exception object. If it's a hash, it's merged with options. See here:

That is great! I was thinking "hmm, maybe whatever notify calls takes care of this" and when I checked back here I saw your response. Thanks for the quick response, I feel like I can be more certain of our calls now.
