Thank you for the work! It's a lot of changes. It will take time to go through all of it. :-)
I started this to have fast implementation and after changed to support correctly specification, it's little bit slower than before. I want to find some places which are not optimal and try to optimise them. So very probably I will merge it slowly piece by piece, as there will be conflicts, if you don't mind.

I chose different path and did some performance optimisations. Now I want to focus on some small refactor and improving documentation. But almost all functionality is backported, only few tests are still not passing.
