I believe it's just the parallel loading of event and geometry that conceals the loading time of one. The geometry may load in 12s standalone but when the event is loading in parallel, both things happen asynchronously taking more time. So it's not like the geometry loads first and then the event.

If you're right, that implies that dropping the asynchronicity would gain me a factor 3 in loading time. I would be definitely interested !!!
