+1 for having the info, but an increase in actual browser support would also be nice.
Given that this is supposedly a modal plugin for "furthering the cause for an accessible web", it's a shame it doesn't work in at least IE8; IE7 support would also be nice.
If the support is to remain IE9+, then it would be nice to see jQuery removed as a dependency. But if jQuery is to remain a dependency, it seems silly not to leverage jQuery v1's features fully to support older browsers and make this as accessible as possible.
(Obviously browser support isn't an explicit part of WCAG, but in my experience clients (and devs) that truly care about web accessibility typically care about optimal browser support as well)

Pencilling this in on the v0.4.0 milestone for us to compile a proper browser support chart. Would also be worth adding IE8 support.

Thanks for raising this issue and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
I can confirm that Modaal is only supported in IE9+ at the moment due to the Object.create()
method not being supported in IE8. We'll review what's necessary to increase the browser support back to ie8 and possibly 7, and update this task accordingly.
To quickly touch on the jQuery dependency, this is certainly something that's being considered and planned, as is seen in #14, so please refer to that ticket for further information.
