Forcing device into Portrait mode about joying-rootassistant HOT 4 CLOSED

anyway:
Use "adb shell setprop ro.sf.hwrotation 90"
It is not necessary to add this to the build.prop as it will stay active until you flash a new firmware.
If you want to edit the build.prop you first need to make the /system read-write.
all of these things can be found in XDA.

Apologies for the wrong place to post. This is something you may want to consider adding to the Extra tools APK as more and more people are looking to run the 10.1" joying unit in a portrait orientation.

Just as an update.. apparently the ro.sf.hwrotation is no longer supported on newer versions of Android. Thought I would just let you know as an FYI :)

Thanks. I didn't know that, but just googled that. It seems you can now only do it programmatically from an app.
