I've been thinking more about this, and I don't think it's the right way to do things anymore. Instead, there should just be a REPL width option in customize. I've noticed that I use lots of different widths of REPL during the course of an Idris session, and having vastly different widths in the output would be a pain more than anything.

The right way is really a command to set the width, then a customize option. The connected success hook should set the width to what is listed in customize, and the customize var should have update functions to set the width appropriately.
