To verify, I ran pip wheel --no-cache-dir --use-pep517 "orjson (==3.10.0)"
and the following output:

I verified that running poetry lock --no-cache
does create a valid installable lockfile -- the unfortunate thing is that this gets undone the next time you run poetry lock
.
Looks like we need to pin <3.10.0

from orjson.
Just rerun poetry lock and it should install just fine.
Why you are seeing the above error is due to missing macos binaries, leading to poetry trying to compile orjson src and if you do not have rust installed, it cannot compile.

This does not work for me. Even if I run poetry lock
the full list of files does not get properly populated.
Also if I run poetry update
it still fails with the same problem as described in this issue. So please don't close it...
This is happening to me in a Windows 11 (I am not using MacOS) on Python 3.12.
There was an issue during the release with 3.10.0
and I think that was the issue letting the 3.10.0
package cursed for poetry...
I am now with the need to pin orjson
to previous version or otherwise it breaks the update command of poetry... (and my package does not even directly depend on it...)
Hope this can help to understand the problem with poetry this last version is causing...

@bonastreyair
can you confirm something for me. Open your poetry.lock file and see if it contains this 2 lines.
{file = "orjson-3.10.0-cp312-none-win32.whl", hash = "sha256:6a3f53dc650bc860eb26ec293dfb489b2f6ae1cbfc409a127b01229980e372f7"},

If it doesn't, delete your poetry.lock file and run poetry lock again. It might be that poetry lock
does not rediscover for found packages.

I have deleted the lock, and recreated it again and this is what I get:
