It might be that switch isn't getting passed down to the Google oauth2 module correctly. Curious, what is your system configuration that requires you to use that switch?

Everywhere I've read indicates this is a failure to load the certificates file to validate the SSL connection (see here, https://github.com/ask/python-github2/issues/58, and https://github.com/kennethreitz/requests/issues/557 for other examples.) Details on your OS and system would be helpful to see if we can replicate, but it sounds like it's an upstream issue.

I'm trying to run this script in a remote shell on a CentOS 5.9 box. Elinks 2.7 is available, but lacks full javascript support and is unable to complete verification process with Google. So I'm trying to verify using my local web browser instead.
Aaaaand, the problem was that the certificate file wasn't readable by my user. Success! Thank you so much for the help :)
