You're welcome. I'm looking forward to a fix (and maybe even a new release tag?) so that this can be merged Homebrew/homebrew-core#5935 and the Homebrew users can build hyperscan from source again.

Thankyou for pointing this out - there have been slight changes in the Boost Graph Library in the 1.62 release which require some slight changes in our code to support it.

One good thing is that it means we shouldn't need the patch to the dominator tree code as Boost have merged boostorg/graph#49.

boostorg/graph@50bfd8d seems to be the culprit

Boost have merged the fix, but that will require a new Boost release which could be months away. We have a workaround (just a patched reverse_graph.hpp) which I'll push into the develop branch soon.

This bug now also affects the debian package in unstable:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=843528

If you plan to do a new minor release with the proposed workaround for hyperscan soon I would wait for it. Otherwise I will pin the libboost build dependency to 1.61 in Debian.

If we don't find a solution in the next week hyperscan might be rejected for Debian next stable (stretch) as this bug is release critical.

If I can help to prevent this as maintainer of the Debian package please let me know.

Ok, I've just created v4.3.2 that includes our fix.

@mdb256 thanks! FYI: Homebrew/homebrew-core#6921.

Great! For Debian this was fixed with an update for the libboost-dev package.
As this is very similar to the patch in 4.3.2 I will skip this minor release for Debian.

The release critical bug in Debian is closed and hyperscan will be in next stable (stretch).
