I came across this issue. Fixed it by:
- npm install (installs dependencies)
- npm audit fix (if you get a warning saying there are vulnerabilities - which I did!)
- npm run rename

it is not renaming in ios directory
only android is renaming

@iboxgithub with apologies for being blunt, but you're doing something fundamentally wrong - 'rename' is a package.json script https://github.com/invertase/react-native-firebase-starter/blob/master/package.json#L10 so it will always work if you are calling it in the correct directory per the instructions
