Did you change the bundle id of your application recently? I've noticed issues, unrelated to ios-sim, where if I change the bundle id of an application, and try to run the simulator, it just locks up on the black screen. If you change the bundle id back to what it was, and then re-run on the simulator, that can tend to fix it.

Could it be the bundle ID? I can't even get the simulator to run with ios-sim start.

I think this is a genuine bug. With a totally reset iOS Simulator, then quitting it, then using ios-sim start it shouldn't hang. Is it hanging when actually deploying an app as well then - wasn't sure from your original post.

We've been testing this with Apache Cordova and had no problems deploying to the Simulator - this is how we use it:

I'm also seeing this problem. Using ios-sim 1.8.2 and Xcode 4.6.3. Mountain Lion 10.8.4. Anything I can do to help?

i have the same problem with ios-sim 1.8.2 (and even with older versions) to launch simulator using ios-sim start, it opens simulator with black screen (simulator hang), i have tried to reset simulator but no luck with that.

OSX: 10.8.4
XCode: 4.6.3

With Xcode 5.01, I cannot repro this with 1.8.2 anymore.
