Yes I agree, this is needed.
Also, some extensions are working well and are easy to use, others are more "beta" level.
So how about these subdirectories:
- usage (nbconvert_button, hotkeys etc)
- styling (extensions manipulating CSS or similar)
- publishing (gist_it, blogs etc.)
- slidemode
- testing (beta stuff)

I agree... and I like the substructure... @Carreau? If you also agree, I will make the changes in the following days...
from jupyter_contrib_nbextensions.
I don't have any issues with re-organizing.
Just want to avoid same thing as with the fortran magic where 3 person implement the same thing in a week because there is no central place to search.
from jupyter_contrib_nbextensions.
I agree completely... it is a waste of resources the repeated implementation caused by missinfomation (or not info at all).
from jupyter_contrib_nbextensions.
I added some descriptions of the extensions I did to the Wiki in my IPython-notebook-extensions fork:
https://github.com/juhasch/IPython-notebook-extensions/wiki
So if you do the reorganization, I can move the Wiki entries over afterwards.
from jupyter_contrib_nbextensions.
I have planned to do it tomorrow... but if you want to merge the wiki, no problem... we can modify it accondingly later if we need to do so...
from jupyter_contrib_nbextensions.
Please go ahead, if you like to. I will be away for two weeks with no Internet connection.

OK, I did not have time yet, sorry for the delay... I will try to begin this week.

I have reorganized the repository and added some documentation in the Wiki in my fork:
https://github.com/juhasch/IPython-notebook-extensions
Does the organization of the repository look better now ?
from jupyter_contrib_nbextensions.
Yeah, it looks better now!
(thanks for your work here and sorry for not do it, I had some personal problems to deal with...)
from jupyter_contrib_nbextensions.
No problem. I will push the changes over the weekend.
from jupyter_contrib_nbextensions.
Great! Thanks again...

I quickly saw all the work you guys are dooing it's awesome, I hope to have more time soon to comme and help again. Kudos !
from jupyter_contrib_nbextensions.
@juhasch is the guy actually working ;-)
With almost no time for several weeks... but from now I will have a little more breath to help here, thanks again @juhasch
from jupyter_contrib_nbextensions.
Glad I could help. I will add documentation for the rest of my extensions to the Wiki.
It would be nice if there was something written for every extension. It is hard enough to install an extension for most users, without documentation it is really bad.

ok, I agree... adding to my todo list...
