When I join and die the server throws errors about arclight HOT 2 CLOSED

I have confirmed that ...

• Arclight is up to date
• all dependencies are installed
• all plugins and mods are up to date
• unable to reproduce in Spigot
• unable to reproduce in Forge

The chat also refuses to work, with the error "Chat is disabled in the client settings"
