Thanks for your detailed answer. I'll try to sum up the privileges necessary and it would be great if you could correct me if I'm wrong (the fact is: the database team at the client's side won't install any 3rd party software as DBA. I also want to be able to update every part of the application without having to rely on non-involved teams)
Privileges needed by PIT owner:
- create session
- create procedure
- create table
- create type
- create any context (problematic for security reasons!)
As far as I see, PIT_ADMIN
does only create a procedure in the PIT owner schema dynamically, so create procedure
should be enough and we don't need create any procedure
(which is much harder to get)
As for create any context
- is the creation of a context something that could be separated from main installation/update process? So a high-privileged account could create the context and a lower privileged account could still install/maintain all the other PIT stuff?
That the certain output modules require specific rights is also clear.
