Hi @Vadorequest thanks for the issue! I expect that this would work fine on node 6, but I have not tested it. If you want to change the node version here https://github.com/jacob-meacham/serverless-plugin-git-variables/blob/develop/package.json#L5 and test it out, I'd definitely accept a PR.
