Will we also validate against xsi:schemaLocation when an external XSD is specified?

from jcabi-xml.

yegor256 avatar yegor256 commented on August 20, 2024

I think we should always validate for xsi:schemaLocation, no matter what is provided in the constructor.

I made a pull request for it here: #25 .

from jcabi-xml.

carlosmiranda avatar carlosmiranda commented on August 20, 2024

@krzyk , it's been implemented (see pull request #25), are we okay here?

from jcabi-xml.

krzyk avatar krzyk commented on August 20, 2024

It would be better to use XSDDocument.validate(...) method

from jcabi-xml.

carlosmiranda avatar carlosmiranda commented on August 20, 2024

@krzyk , given the design of the Java XML validation library, using XSDDocument for this is too complex since we'll have to fetch each XSD by hand. The validation library can handle it this way, so I think this is enough.

As for this ticket, I think we've resolved the request for StrictXML. I think we can close this, and if you still think we need to refactor XSDDocument to accommodate this, we can raise a new ticket. Would you agree?
