Examples and tests fail under Python 2.7.1 virtualenv in OS X about melopy HOT 9 CLOSED

Seeing the same issues as OP. I can upload a gist if needed, but it's verbatim of OP's.

I'm also unable to run the sample programs. Output seems to indicate problems with the code (saying things like "strings are uncallable"). I'm also running 2.7.1 on OS X.

Same error here. Python2.7 on 10.04 Lucid Lynx

Fixed the canon bug. Was simply overwriting a namespace it shouldn't have been. I'm working on updating all the tests (which is a bit of a job as they've gotten outdated).

Running the canon example worked fine, but running the test still resulted in an error, looks like the same problem.

Seems to be an unrelated issue with nose tests. I'll look into it later, but for now I think this can be closed. @prezjordan
