I can confirm that issue as well.
Update: rollback to the previous 1.13.6.20 fixes the problem, so definitely it was introduced in the last 1.13.8.22 release.

Yeah. I noted that at the bottom of the issue. I realize that if I don't use dot-notation and open objects it does function correctly, but I sometimes have variables declared at the root and inside a variable and I like to be specific.
e.g.
{
"v":"some var",
"a":{"v":2}
}

Hey Everyone,
I know this has been outstanding for a long time and i'm trying to get through the backlog. @rafarhat created a pull request with a fix for this which I've just merged into the dev branch and it will be in the next release.
I'm planning to get an RC build of this release up soon, thanks for your patience
