It's possible for music files to contain lyrics, it might be nice to show those lyrics on screen especially since TVs tend to have so much space to fill. Would require looking at the ID3 tags for MP3, FLAC tags, or Vorbis comments.
Not sure what exactly you were thinking for a music slideshow, but since I use spotify on AndroidTV their implementation was the first that comes to mind. They sometimes show facts about the song, lyrics, and of course the album art on the side.

The new screensaver in 0.16 now shows album art while playing music.

Yes that sounds like what I am after something music related that adds to the experience. Just hate looking at a black screen with nothing on it when listening to music
