Add a more obvious/semantic way to trigger a sort without clicking about stupid-table-plugin HOT 8 CLOSED

Seems reasonable.

How about including options for sort direction?

$("#mytable").stupidsort(0,'asc')
$("#mytable").stupidsort(0,'desc')

I presume the 0 here is the column number, where the columns are numbered 0..n from left to right?

Wouldn't it be easier/better to pass the th, which has that information already?

I don't imagine many people would have a reason for the th to be selected. If we have

var th = $table.find("th").eq(0);
$th.sort();

It seems like we might as well condense it to

$table.sort(0);

The table has to be selected already since that's how you trigger the stupidtable, so I figure we might as well use that instead of forcing another selector.

I don't like passing "magic numbers" (or at least, values that don't reveal contextual information), which is what a column index would be.

More like,
$mytable.sort( $mytable.find('th.thisOne') );
OR
$mytable.sort( $('#sortMe') );
