You can make the screen larger using the mode command, but you cannot scroll back.
The maximum supported size is the following:
mode con cols=132 lines=60
To see the valid options, run mode /?.

On PC-98 there is a software called xscript that saves text output to a buffer and scrollback on-demand.
(Unfortunately, it didn't work on native DOSBox-X PC-98 mode, so you have to boot a PC-98 DOS).
Maybe similar software is available for IBM-PC as well.
