Thanks for the suggestion.

Did you know that you can assign Priorities to each KeeFox entry (another Advanced string)? Might help in some related situations.

KeeFox can use the Priority you assign to work out which entry should be automatically used. It also uses an algorithm to estimate the most "relevant" entry, based on criteria such as the similarity of form field unique IDs and names.

For several "equal" entries I can see that there might be a benefit in avoiding the automatic submission so I'll keep this feature request pending and welcome any further comments on the topic from anyone. However, I am struggling to think of situations where the combination of advanced string configuration options is insufficient to achieve the behaviour you desire (e.g. can't you just set all those entries to "never auto submit"?)

I'm also pushing this to a post 1.0 task because I am trying to concentrate on only essential features until 1.0 is released and I think there are probably ways to work around the lack of this feature at the moment (and that will only become an easier workaround once a nicer user interface to the advanced strings is available).

Finally, I'll just say that I would implement this as optional behaviour because I think the control from advanced strings will give a preferable experience in many situations so I wouldn't want to remove the current behaviour.

Keep the ideas coming!

Yes, I have applied the Priority. Works very well. My compliments.
Concentrating on the "Must haves" is excellent.

Advanced string options works, but in my opinion, is for the expert. I don't see my wife adding them to KeePass.

She would like to login automatically and if there are more accounts, choose the one she likes.
This is also how LastPass behaves.

Succes with the development of this great tool!

The following about:config entry can toggle this option from version 0.8.4 onwards:

!extensions.keefox@chris.tomlinson.autoFillFormsWithMultipleMatches

0.8.4 can be found on the experimental download page:

I've not had time to make it a "proper" option for anyone to use yet but thought you might want to know it's there - it's not pretty but you'll only have to enable the option once. Just go to advanced config and create a new boolean entry with that name and set it to true.

First, as far as I can see and tested, it works well. My compliments!

I do not know what I should expect, so I ask.
The entry "extensions.keefox@chris.tomlinson.autoFillFormsWithMultipleMatches" did not exist in Firefox. I had to create it and fill it.

Is this the desired behaviour or should it automatically be created with a default setting when installing or upgrading the Keefox add-on?

Hi,

Yes that is expected because I've not configured a default installation setting yet :-)

Sometime in the coming weeks I'm going to give the whole set of possible KeeFox options a review and update the KeeFox Options dialog window as appropriate - once that's done this option will be easier to find and change.

That task is covered by #63 so I'm closing this ticket.

Thanks,
Chris
