ForwardDiff globally overrides iteration, which is a big no-no:

start(partials) = start(data(partials))
next(partials, i) = next(data(partials), i)
done(partials, i) = done(data(partials), i)

Also you can use Gallium.breakpoint_on_error to debug this ;).
