Do you need to pay for the ability to get live/real data?

not for personal use. just like plaid, you get a free developer account to play with

With the developer api keys I'm messing with right now, I'm only seeing MX's sandbox data. And then the only other option is getting production keys for $100/mo.

its been a while, but i remember having to submit a request for non sandbox data. plaid i think is automated, whereas mx.com you have to submit a request which gets "Reviewed" and they provide access. i did not have to submit anything other than basic info in the request. i'm not a developer, nor have a company and still have access

Mx has a button to request production access, but it takes you to a screen asking for payment info. Kept coming back to it for some reason - finally actually put in some payment info (of a card that can't get charged). Currently in review; been over a week and no movement. Also sent them an email, no response.
