Thank you for the suggestion, but allow me to provide some context.

OpenCutList is tightly linked to the way SketchUp handles components (geometric objects). We have developed OpenCutList for SketchUp, because SketchUp is the 3D software we use. Although it is not free anymore, SketchUp remains easily accessible.

Would a port of OpenCutList to FreeCAD be possible? We do not know enough about FreeCAD to be able to answer this question. We are not FreeCAD users. Potentially this would require a lot of time and would be more of a complete rewrite.

We'd be happy if volunteers were inspired by OpenCutList to create a woodworking extension to FreeCAD, but that's not something we can do.

No problem, I understand fully. It was just to plant the idea. Maybe in some future someone would be interested in trying that ;) I'll spread the idea in the FreeCAD community too, who knows interesting things might happen...
