Hmm, works fine here. What OS and GPU/driver do you have?

I have the same problem, Windows 10, GTX 960 newest driver, I usually use the xsoft+scalefx-level2aa+sharpsmoother, but now it gives me black screen with some yellow countor sprites... weird. The problem isn't the driver, at least for me, cause I was playing the games with the shader and it was working until I updated the shaders from online updater, ten minutes ago.

Edit: Scale9x gives me black screen without anything. The yellow contour is with the preset above.

Scalefx9 is the one that dosnt work for me. And the one i use. The normal one works. I think there must be sine bug here. I have no other problems

budtz avatar budtz commented on August 16, 2024

Could it be possible to pleese look at this again. I love theese shaders but the new version still dosnt work.

Its theese 3 in the scalefx folder:

xSoft scalefx shapeningsmoother
xsoft scalefx
scalefx9 (the one I use)

The others work just fine. Tested on desktop and laptop running windows 10 latest version over 5 months

I couldn't reproduce it on my end, so I couldn't really track down what's going on with it. You'll just have to use the old version, which is still very nice and is still available in a subdirectory of the scalefx directory.

Hello, I am not getting even the old ones to work with SNES9X 1.54.1

I really wanted to use the new version of ScaleFX, but I get black screens for most of these. When I do get video, even with the old shaders, it appears like nothing is actually working.

I am win7 64, newest Nvidia, 1070, 2500k, and I believe I have all the proper dlls and stuff on board.

For the new shader if I go to the separate passes I get image on all but passes 2 and 4.

With the old one I do not have image on pass 3. Both produce blank screens for me when I apply the actual filter.

Also, your shader is amazing. It works great is BSNES Balanced. I have no save files for that though.

hizzlekizzle avatar hizzlekizzle commented on August 16, 2024

If you're using snes9x standalone, it may not have all of the shader capabilities to render it properly. Could you try it in RetroArch and see if it works for you there?

from common-shaders.

Khronikos avatar Khronikos commented on August 16, 2024

Strike that. It is working in retroarch. What version is the retroarch SNES9x at?

It sucks because I have no save file for the retroarch version. It did not seem to be taking my smc file either.

budtz avatar budtz commented on August 16, 2024

You can convert the save file i think. thou this is off topic.

strange i cant get it to work on two machines

hizzlekizzle avatar hizzlekizzle commented on August 16, 2024

@Khronikos
Our snes9x core is up-to-date. SRAM saves should be portable across standalone and the libretro core, savestates probably will not be. *smc files should load up fine. If you need further assistance, hit up the libretro forums as this is indeed skewing off-topic.
