The current master seem good! Running helptags
does not dirty this repo's status.
from vim-colortemplate.
Closing this, then. I prefer to leave the tags
file, because that makes the help items discoverable without the user having to run helptags
before.

Ignoring tags
is certainly possible. I am wondering, though, why regenerating it with helptags
produces a different result than in the repo. I'll double-check whether it is up to date.

It looks like the existing tags
refers to files that don't exist in the repo. Perhaps they're being generated by some gitignored files that exist on a local machine?
Updating the tags
file so helptags
doesn't modify it would certainly work. I mainly just suggested using .gitignore
because it seems like a lower-maintenance solution, and I assume that users who are developing color schemes won't mind running helptags
manually. I don't have a strong opinion about which solution is better, though.

Ah, good catch: there were some ignored files in my local doc
folder. The issue should be fixed. Can you try with the current master?
