Why not have star ratings on the apps? Maybe even reviews?
from linuxappstore.
Define "popular". A million installs of a snap or a thousand installs of a flatpak direct from the store or flathub will be invisible to your site. If 10 people click the appimage, your site might determine them as "popular" which misrepresents reality.

There's already a review system which exists and is used. Having a separate system for reviews makes no sense. Ubuntu shut down theirs and switched to the shared ODRS system for reviews, rather than continue running their own. Would make more sense to pull reviews from that database than start again.

Not sure how easy it is for users to write reviews and give stars using ODRS, and have the UI for doing so integrated in linuxappstore.io.

It's integrated into GNOME Software for example, so there's an API for it. Why not use it?

Number of downloads would be interesting, but I doubt it's easy to get.
