Trouble using django-pyodbc with python manage.py dbshell / loaddata about django-pyodbc HOT 3 CLOSED

Thanks for the reply. I actually got this figured out, but it may still be a bug.

Here was my old (broken) settings.py DATABASES section:

'ENGINE': 'django_pyodbc',
'NAME': 'db_name',
'USER': 'user_name',
'PASSWORD': 'pw',
'HOST': 'hostname.domain.com,1433',
'PORT': '1433',
'OPTIONS': {
    'host_is_server': True,
    'autocommit': True,
    'unicode_results': True,
    'extra_params': 'tds_version=8.0'
},

Here is the one that works with dbshell and loaddata:

'ENGINE': 'django_pyodbc',
'NAME': 'db_name',
'USER': 'user_name',
'PASSWORD': 'pw',
'PORT': '1433',
'OPTIONS': {
    'host_is_server': True,
    'dsn': 'dsn_name',
    'autocommit': True,
    'unicode_results': True,
    'extra_params': 'tds_version=8.0'
},

I had to remove the HOST from the second example, as FreeTDS said you could only pass a DSN or Servername, not both - which makes sense. Thanks for getting back to me, I just figured this out about five minutes ago.

A teammate is looking into the code to see if he can get it working either way. If not, I'll be happy to do a P.R. with a lot more detail about settings for django-pyodbc. Cheers!
