@g1patnaik : The upstream 3.10.y branch has gone "end of life" for almost 5 years: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/log/?h=linux-3.10.y
If you're running RHEL/CentOS 7.9, you should be running the RHEL kernel 3.10.0-1160, which is the upstream 3.10 kernel + a lot of patches backported from the mainline.

Is there a particular reason you need to install this LIS package instead of just using the built-in LIS that comes as part of RHEL/CentOS 7.8? In most cases these days, the delta is small. Thereโs not as much reason to install this Microsoft-provided LIS package as there once was for old RHEL/CentOS versions.

@dcui It looks like the linux kernel still use older LIS atleast for storvsc 4.2
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/tree/drivers/scsi/storvsc_drv.c?h=linux-3.10.y, I was referring to VMSTOR_CURRENT_MAJOR and VMSTOR_CURRENT_MINOR
The problem is with this particular driver version of hv_storvsc, NPIV implementation has issues after migration or storage upgrade. and reportedly with 4.3.5 driver, there are no issues.
