Can you paste an example?

from hugo-cite.

@loup-brun For sure!

Here, I attempted to use a straight printf to just get the {{< cite "my citation" >}} in. This renders to a beautiful text string (no citation formatted). 😄

 {{ range $i, $r := getCSV $sep $url }}
    {{ if eq $i 0 }}
    <thead>
          <tr>
            {{ range $k, $v := $r }}
              <th>{{ . }}</th>
              {{end}}
          </tr>
        </thead>
      {{else}}
          <tr>
            {{ range $k, $v := $r }}
              {{ if eq $k 0}}
                <th{{ . }}</th>
              {{else}}
                {{if eq $k ($data.Get "reference_col_index")}}
                  <td scope="row">
                    {{- printf "%v" . | # HERE is the printf line that is attempting to format the column. Small bit of RE to clean data.
                    strings.ReplaceRE `\['` "{{< cite \"" |
                    strings.ReplaceRE `,` ";" |
                    strings.ReplaceRE `']` "\" >}}"
                    -}}
                  </td>
                {{else}}
                  <td scope="row">{{ . }}</td>
                {{end}}
              {{end}}
            {{end}}
          </tr>
      {{end}}
    {{end}}

I also tried a cite which returns an 'unexpected "<" in command':

{{ range $i, $r := getCSV $sep $url }}
    {{ if eq $i 0 }}
    <thead>
          <tr>
            {{ range $k, $v := $r }}
              <th>{{ . }}</th>
            {{end}}
          </tr>
        </thead>
      {{else}}
          <tr>
            {{ range $k, $v := $r }}
              {{ if eq $k 0}}
                <th>{{ . }}</th>
              {{else}}
                {{if eq $k 1 )}}. # where 1 is the column of reference ids
                  <td scope="row">
                    {{< cite . |
                    strings.ReplaceRE `\['` "\"" |
                    strings.ReplaceRE `,` ";" |
                    strings.ReplaceRE `']` "\""
                    >}}
                  </td>
                {{else}}
                  <td scope="row">{{ . }}</td>
                {{end}}
              {{end}}
            {{end}}
          </tr>
      {{end}}
    {{end}}
