Switching to another computer (still new kernel) and not using a usb hub (that I forgot to mention) makes it all look fine, so there's no reason to suspect anything in this code. False alarm!

I (finally) fixed some compile errors, like the err() one. Even though you already fixed it yourself, you could maybe still checkout the new sources when you have some time left.
