Caching fails when not using vcpkg as a submodule about cppbuildtasks HOT 4 CLOSED

Thanks for the detailed feedback! The file vcpkg_remore_url.last must be indeed added to the default value of vcpkgArtifactIgnoreEntries attribute, so that it always gets cached.

@drbenmorgan i have not pushed the fix for this since there is a work around and I am in the middle of a major rework of the tasks that would fix this problem as well.

One question: do you have a link to the build where you set the vcpkgArtifactIgnoreEntries to buildtrees\ndownloads\npackages\n? I would like to double check whether with that change you are caching all the files instead.

Hi @lukka, I've restored the build to what I was using originally, so the pipelines script is here:

(it's on the azure branch of the repo) and the build where that built/used vcpkg, and created the cache is here:

It looks like the value your provided is correct, since the buildtrees, downloads, packages have been excluded by the cache, and all the rest (.git included) has been properly cached.
