clojure.lang.Compiler$CompilerException occurs on first page request when referencing POST about luminus HOT 6 CLOSED

I'm unable to reproduce this, are you remembering to require POST:

(ns testbox.routes.home
  (:require [myapp.layout :as layout]
            [compojure.core :refer [defroutes GET POST]]
            [clojure.java.io :as io]))

I don't have the POST in the require.

Surely it should show that error on each page request then?

You do need to reference the functions you're using it in the namespace. It's possible lein-ring is falling back to the last working version when you reload.

I understand your point and your solution does solve it.

I'm just concerned why the error only shows up on the first page request that 'encounters' this error. If I run into another issue like this I wouldn't want an error to be potentially hidden away. Hopefully this makes sense?

I understand the point, but that's really to do with the nature of live reloading. To make sure that the namespaces are recompiled you can run lein clean, and obviously any errors you get on load do need to be fixed.
