I added the param IN layer for the cgs in the last version, that lets you specify which 'layer' or group you want to add the cg to. For example, you could do:
- show mycg: WITH CUT IN cgsSprites
BEHIND keyword is equal to do param IN behindCharactersSprites
Not sure if two show actions in different layer will effectively change it as the code is right now, but may be.
The problem I find with this param is that the layers have really ugly names, maybe layer names (in story manager) should be renamed so this param is more usable.

Tried that out and found that I think I mistook the root cause of the issue: I think it's actually only flickering for the same reason as text/bgs/etc from the other bugfixes, which is that it's possible for the cg to end up in the top-left corner when doing the hide + reshow.
More user-friendly names for the layers would be nice though!
