Okay this is weird. I was able to build from source just fine (see issue #2). Wonder if the versions of dependent cookbooks I had mattered.

Can you walk me through how you configured your node where the apache2 site broke? I just did an OOB run on 10.04 and things went fine. I'll need to test with a hostname for kibana but if you can recall the steps you took that would help me troubleshoot.

to fix this, need to set the following value attributes/default.rb
default['apache']['default_site_enabled'] = false
