I was just thinking of a more long-term and adaptable solution.
I think it will be easier to add an Android ascii logo to it.
Sure, you could use ours if you want.

I'm not sure I understand the question...
- Do you want to add an extra newline between the prompt and macchina's output?
I think the padding
theming option is what you want here.
- Do you want just the ASCII art to be one line lower?
This is not possible, AFAIK through macchina, but you can always add a newline to the ASCII art. I'm sure you've already thought of this, so I guess the answer to your question is the 1st point.

@grtcdr Thanks for replying. I don't want an extra line before all output or on the ascii art, but I want an extra line on the text to the right of it. I can't make the ascii logo any higher, so I want to lower the text, as it doesn't look well balanced as it is. It's not important, but I get a bit OCD about stuff like this.

but I want an extra line on the text to the right of it.
So, you want every readout to be separated by an extra newline?
Something like this?
Kernel ~ ...
Distribution ~ ...
If this is not what you meant, please illustrate your request with an example :)

00000 Host - foo@bar
000000000 Machine -
000000000 Kernel -
000000000 Local IP -
00000

00000 <----------

000000000 Machine -
000000000 Kernel -
00000 Local IP -

This is not possible at the moment, as the padding is applied across the whole buffer and not at the component level. I'll turn this into a feature request, but I unfortunately won't be able to work on it right away.

Okay thanks.

No need to close it, this hurts visibility; perhaps a visitor or previous contributor may be able to work on it.
I have a question though considering the UI aspect of this request.
What is it exactly that you dislike about the current placement?
Both your proposal and the current placement are asymmetrical to the ASCII art, which leads me to believe that the only way to resolve this issue, is to offer three different alignment options for the readout component: "top", "bottom", and "center".

It's not important. I just wanted to lower the text by one line, but if I cannot it doesn't matter. I have been using linux_logo to remind me what I have logged into for 13 years or so and I could easily adapt it but it has no Android logo. I think it will be easier to add an Android ascii logo to it.
