It turns out it's not exactly as reported.

Dragging a tab from container tabs sidebar and dropping on a container branch within another window's CTSB will:

  • Reopen the tab in the original window with the target branch, if the target is different from the original container of the tab.
  • Move the tab to the new window, if the target container is the same.

This is just the behavior for dragging within a single window, but in the context of cross-window DnD the action "reopen in target container" needs to be modified to target the window where the tab was dropped.

@edrex
I'm trying to reproduce this bug, but can't. Can you provide more detailed steps?

Thank You

@edrex
I can reproduce it in about 1/30 tries, but can't get any specific path for it.

I see.. It's consistent for me. I'm running FF native wayland under Sway. It looks like you're on Linux too but Wayland or X11? Maybe it's a DnD quirk there?

@edrex
It's X11 with i3.
I tried to look a bit deeper into it. But found nothing. I believe there has to be some race-condition between handlers (which I don't know how could happen in single-threaded environment). It's getting increasingly harder to reproduce. Could only do it once every ~5 minutes. Which makes it very hard to debug.
